POLSON — The field surrounding Milliron Paint Horses arena was filled with pickups, trailers with horses tied to them on Aug. 10 and 11.
Pint-sized and larger kids, ages 7 and under to 18, were at the arena to compete in a Southwest Youth Rodeo Association rodeo.
The kids compete in dummy roping for the 7 and under crowd, calf chute tying, pole bending, barrel racing, team roping, breakaway roping, goat tail tying for the younger kids and goat tying for older contestants and flag racing.
According to moms in the crowd, the season begins in June and ends with finals in Butte on Sept. 2.
