ST. IGNATIUS — A one-of-a-kind pasture management workshop with renowned tame pasture management expert Greg Judy will be offered Thursday and Friday, Sept. 19 and 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Amish Community Building in St. Ignatius. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Participants may attend one day or both days.

Judy and his wife Jan operate a diverse, 1,400 acre ranching operation in Clark, Missouri. Judy is an expert specifically in High Stock Density Grazing. The author of several books, many publications and a frequent keynote speaker, Judy’s advice and wisdom is sought worldwide. Judy credits High Stock Density Grazing with saving his operation by drastically increasing forage production and reducing input costs. He will share successes as well as his hard-learned lessons with regards to making improvements to his grazing management, and he’ll help show farmers and ranchers why improving grazing management can improve their ranch.

The Amish Community center is located three miles northeast of St. Ignatius at the corner              of Allison and Foothill Roads.

There is a minimal cost for the workshop that includes lunch provided by the local Amish community, snacks and refreshments. The cost is $20 for one day, or $30 for both days.

Please RSVP by Sept. 11 by calling the Lake County Conservation District, or the Ronan NRCS Field Office at (406) 676-2841, ext. 3.

The workshop is offered by the Lake County Conservation District, the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Five Valleys Land Trust.
