RONAN — As summer starts to fade, I realize there are people who have made our town more enjoyable and need to be thanked and recognized. Like Bev’s Bloomers, Moiese Green House and Valley Greenhouse, who donated flowers for our visitor center and Main Street.

Also the many businesses that purchased flower baskets for Main Street. The flower baskets are looking rather beautiful under the care of Greg Linse, who waters them every day, and his pay is the thanks we give him. Greg is able to water them with a 4-wheeler that Power Products has so generously loaned us, along with a water trailer they have set up and continually fix when broken. Greg had to take some time off this summer, and a very energetic Kandi Davis and Sheina Sager pinch-hit for him.

Also Ronan Women’s Club and Lion’s Club for their financial support.

Once again Kicking Horse Job Corp. has come through for our town in making new picnic tables and garbage cans for our park, plus cleaning up the park and creek, etc. They also strung new lights on the power poles and cleaned up weeds, etc. on Main Street to brighten things up for Pioneer Days.

Our thanks to all of these people who care about our town and believe in Ronan pride.

(Editor’s note: Ky Bartels is chairman of the Ronan Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee.)
