POLSON — With the new stoplight on U.S. Highway 93 at the turn to the Walmart Supercenter on Memory Lane, locals know the store opening is coming soon.
“Yes,” said Dan DeWitt, store manager, “the new store’s grand opening is Oct. 23.”
The Walmart Supercenter at the top of Polson Hill will have 125,000 square feet for merchandise, with probably 35 percent of the total footage in groceries and food items.
DeWitt said they’ve been hiring since May and have 66 more people to hire. All in all, the Supercenter will bring 100 new jobs, with a total of 200 employees.
People who would like to apply for employment may go to Walmart online or to the kiosk located at the back of the Polson store.
DeWitt said the fixtures and registers are already in the new building, and trucks have started taking merchandise from the old store up the hill to the new store.
“It’s just like that new car feel,” DeWitt said of the new store, “with the vision center and the nice parking lot.”
