RONAN — I goofed last week and forget to put in the results of the card party that was here on Sept. 16, so here they are: There were 22 people here to play cards and Bob Watson had high score; Bob Cook had low score; Sharon Guenzler had the most pinochles; and Grace Ingraham won the door prize. The gang will meet here again on Oct. 21. They are going back to their winter playing time and will start meeting at 1:30 p.m. So, come on in and join us for lunch (ham and scalloped potatoes) and stay and play cards with your friends.

This is the week we have training so we will not be serving a meal on Wednesday, Oct. 9. However, we will serve a great chicken dinner at 5 pm, on Thursday, Oct. 10, and our regular meal at noon on Oct. 11. Flu shots will be given here Friday, Oct.11, at 12:30 p.m. Don’t forget your Medicare cards. If you are not on Medicare, the cost of a flu shot is $25 per person.

The Nutrition Program will have a spaghetti dinner from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, for $5 per person, or $20 for a family. This is one of the fundraisers we must have to support the nutrition program and all are welcome to attend.

Our birthday dinner will be on Friday, Oct. 25. We will serve a great roast beef dinner with all the trimmings. We will serve the meal at noon and for $4 if you are 60 years old or older and $5 if you are less than 60 years old.

The Council on Aging is still holding their raffle for a TV and a quilt. Give them a call at (406) 676-2367, to purchase tickets or for more information. You may also purchase tickets here at the center.

We are still having our Wednesday afternoon “craft and painting” time following the noon meal. If we have enough players we will play bingo following the noon meal on Friday. We now have a TV and a DVD player so in the near future we will show movies following the meal on Mondays.

Our menu for the month of October is as follows:

• Wednesday, Oct. 9: no noon meal

• Friday, Oct. 11: chicken noodle soup and sandwiches

• Monday, Oct. 14: hamburgers

• Wednesday, Oct. 16: pork roast

• Friday, Oct. 18: chilidogs

• Saturday, Oct. 19: spaghetti dinner at 4 p.m.

• Monday, Oct. 21: ham and scalloped potatoes

• Wednesday, Oct. 14: spaghetti

• Friday, Oct. 25: our roast beef birthday dinner

• Monday, Oct. 28: barbecue beef on a bun

• Wednesday, Oct. 29: ham and noodle casserole
