Editor,

The People’s Voice Inc. is a non-profit organization founded under the guidelines of the State of Montana, Secretary of State’s Office, as of January 4, 2013. We are advocates for tribal members who have issues and concerns before the tribal council or tribal court, and are too shy to appear by themselves. We do not charge a fee for our services, and we keep our clientele confidential. We strive to be truthful, professional, ethical, and spiritual in our ways of accomplishing matters. We open and close our meetings with a prayer, giving credit to our Lord, Jesus Christ. All enrolled members may join our group; non-Indian spouses may attend as guests only.

We are going to become a part of a large website that will connect us not only with the six other reservations in Montana, but with almost 100 more throughout the United States who are having problems with corruption and civil rights infractions of their tribal council. We believe strongly in the future of this reservation, and wish to assist our people wherever we can. When we stand united, we can have the important things we want and need on this beautiful reservation. Our tribal council must learn that they work for us, not for themselves, and they need to allow us to vote on important issues.

We have filed a complaint in Tribal Court through our attorney, Howard Toole, from Missoula. This complaint concerns the referendum vote denied by the tribal council. He met with us recently and his words were encouraging. There is so much more positive things to say, but we cannot let the defendant know ahead of time what is going to happen.

The recall amendment to the constitution passed, and a Secretarial Election will be held shortly by the BIA, Flathead Agency, with Ms. Cheryl Finley in charge of the election. The tribal council has nothing to do with this election at all. All eight polling districts will be manned by tribal members and judges approved by Ms. Finley. Information on the Secretarial Election will be put into the Char-Koosta for your information.
