WHITEFISH – At the Northwest A Championship meet in Whitefish on Saturday, the Pirates and Lady Pirates put three miles of wings under their feet.

Three Lady Pirates placed in the top 10 with Claudia Hewston (18:56) leading with a second place finish. Freshman Isabella Seemann (19:34) came in fifth and Anna Young (20:31) finished in 10th. Both girls “shattered” their personal bests, according to Coach Matt Seeley.

For the boys, Tel Motichka logged his lifetime personal best time of 16:39, placing fifth for the Pirates.

Polson hopes to continue in the top spots at the State Championship Saturday, Oct. 26 as they send seven boys and girls from each team.

Boys State Team – Tel Motichka, Warren Wood, Cade Howlett, Chris McDonald, Thunder Morales, Matt Sitter and Quaid Harlan

Girls State Team – Claudia Hewston, Isabella Seemann, Anna Young, Amanda Stobie, Tegan Bauer, Hallie Hovenkotter and Hannah Madsen.
