Editor,

On Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 I received my property tax statement along with a letter from the Jocko Valley and Mission Irrigation Districts as well as the other people who also irrigate their land every summer here on the reservation. I was shocked to read in the letter that the Jocko Valley Irrigation District and Mission Irrigation District administrative fees have been raised from $2.65 per acre to $9 per acre. So why do the farmers who irrigate every summer along with every other person who irrigates on the reservation have to pay for the two irrigation districts who cannot get along? Because now due to the raise in fees my property tax went up. Thank you so very much JVMID and FJBC. I hope you are proud of yourselves.
