RONAN — Last Friday, I was so busy getting ready for our spaghetti dinner and silent auction that I forget to write the column for the newspapers. We had a great turnout for the dinner and auction and would like to thank all who donated, helped and came to enjoy the meal and to bid at the auction.

Our condolences to the Earl Mutchler family as Earl passed away last week.

Here we are, starting a new month already, and so we begin a new cycle of monthly happenings here at the center. Our board meeting will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 4.

Our monthly evening meal will be on Thursday, Nov. 14. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. and this month we will serve roast pork. The cost of this meal is only $5 and all are invited to attend.

Cards will be played here on Monday, Nov.18, at 1:30 p.m. The foot clinic will be here on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m.-noon. That is also the day of our Thanksgiving dinner. We will have a great turkey dinner with all of the trimmings. So come on in and join us and get a jump-start on the holiday season.

We will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, for Thanksgiving.

The 29th is the last Friday of the month, so we have moved the November birthday dinner to the next Friday, which is the 6th of December.

Following dinner, we have crafts on Wednesdays and bingo on Fridays (providing we have enough players). The pool table is always ready to be used and we have books and puzzles for you to borrow or exchange.

Our meals are served at noon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and the cost is only $4 if you are 60 years old or older and $5 if you are under 60 years old. Thursday evening meals are always held at 5 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month. Even though this is a Senior Citizens Center, the public is always welcome to come and enjoy any of our functions.

The Council on Aging is still holding a raffle for the 47 inch TV, the quilt, the ceramic goose and several smaller prizes. The tickets are $1 each or six for $5. If you would like to buy tickets contact the COA at (406) 676-2367. You may also come into their office to see the items. They are located at the back of the center, at 528 Main St. SW (across from St. Lukes).

Our menu for the next week is:

• Wednesday, Oct 30: ham and noodle casserole

• Friday, Nov. 1: porcupine meatballs

• Monday, Nov. 4: taco soup

• Wednesday, Nov. 6: pork chops

• Friday, Nov. 8: hamburgers in mushroom gravy

Come on in and join us for a great meal and to visit with your friends.

Have a great week, and enjoy the beautiful fall colors, as they won’t last much longer.
