Annabelle Lindsay Morin Zahn

ST. IGNATIUS — Annabelle Zahn was born a “premie” on July 26, 1915, in D’Aste, Mont. She survived cholera, smallpox and two husbands: Henry Marion Morin, (d. 1959), and Henry L. Zahn, (d. 1974). She died Nov. 8, 2013, in St. Ignatius, Mont.

Preceded in death by her parents Henrietta Speed and George Lindsay and siblings Evelyn “Lena” McCollum, John Andrew Lindsay, Margaret Brisson, Henrietta G. Stendal, Viola Marie Britton Cantrell, Violet Mae Atkins Hockett, Georgina E. Scott, Victoria Montana Nanson and a nephew George Oliver McCollum Lindsay, (who was raised as a brother because his mother Lena and father Ernest McCollum passed in the flu epidemic in December of 1918).

Annabelle is survived by three daughters: Marianne Morin Johnson, Sharon Morin Phillips Hill and Vicki Morin-Gallagher; eight grandchildren: Gregory Morin Johnson, Roxanna Louise Phillips Bassette, Robyn Sue Phillips Schock, Shari Louise Johnson, Kenneth Marion Phillips, Scott William Johnson, Lori Lynn Phillips Adams, Kelli Ann Johnson; and three of Gary’s grandchildren: Kevin, Ken and Kim HIll; 14 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

Before marriage she was a stringer for the Spokesman Review and the Missoulian.

Funeral will take place at the United Methodist Church at the top of Post Creek Hill on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at 2 p.m. No flowers please, send donations to the Mission Valley Food Pantry, PO Box 644, St. Ignatius, MT 59865.

 

Elsie Elizabeth Culver

 

POLSON — Elsie Elizabeth Culver, 96, passed away at her home on Nov. 4. A memorial service for her is planned for Saturday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m. at Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.groganfuneralhome.com.

 

Loyal “Buck” Baertsch

 

POLSON — Loyal “Buck” Baertsch, 94, died in Polson at Polson Health and Rehab. on Nov. 6, 2013. Funeral services were held at Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory in Polson on Nov. 12. Services included burial with full military honors at Lakeview Cemetery immediately. Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the arrangements for the family.

Theodore “Ted” Robert Ising

 

PABLO – Theodore “Ted” Robert Ising, 61, passed away at his home on Nov. 9. Born Sept. 16, 1952, in Louisville, Ky. to John W. and Beverly (Knoop) Ising. He was raised in Kentucky and lived in the Louisville area until he moved to Polson and then Pablo over ten years ago.

A kind and caring man he worked at Wilderness Pine Cone in Pablo helping his close friend Don Drowatzky.

He was preceded in death by his parents and dear friend Faye Drowatzky. Survivors include his brother John W. Ising, Jr. and a sister Susan Ising DeWitt both of Kentucky. 

A graveside memorial service will be held next week at Kentucky’s Bluegrass Knob Cemetery in Pablo. Foster Funeral Home and Crematory of St. Ignatius is assisting with arrangements.
