POLSON — Polson resident Harvey A. Town recently published a book, “Jesus, the talk of the Town.” The books will be available at a book signing Sunday, Nov. 17 following church services at Terrace Lake Community Church, roughly noon. Town will again sign copies of his book at the Ronan Senior Center Friday, Nov. 29 after the monthly birthday lunch, approximately 12:45 p.m.
Town moved to Polson in 1947 and graduated from Polson High School. His wife, Joyce, grew up in Ronan.
Because all their children and grandchildren live far away in Asia, Europe, Canada — and Missouri — Town wanted to record their life story for their distant offspring.
Town documents his life story from milking cows and harvesting deer, working for Glacier National Park, serving as a missionary in Japan, and eventually overseeing Christian and Missionary Alliance churches throughout the northwest in a pastoral position. Details of Town’s life were recorded in journals that he began writing 1958.
Throughout his life, Town has consistently shared the love of Jesus with those he’s met, leading many to a personal relationship with the Savior.
