A spirit of unity and generosity prevailed as the community gathered for an afternoon of feasting, singing and supporting each other’s efforts.
And they hadn’t even left Ronan yet.
Supporters who attended Saturday’s Barn Dance fundraiser at the Ronan Community Center dug deep, bringing in more than $3,000 to help send Youth With A Mission discipleship training students and the Tatukivei family return to a school the family started in West Africa in 2004.
Tables in the community center were lined with generous crafts, artwork and baked items for sale in the silent auction and spaghetti was served by the plateful for a donation.
Children danced nonstop while neighbors enjoyed the music and the fellowship.
A pancake fundraising breakfast for the missions trip will be held Sunday, Nov. 24 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lake City Bakery, 49493 US Highway 93 in Polson.
The Tatukiveis leave Dec. 11.
