POLSON – Every Monday from 12 to 12:30 p.m. a voice for peace can be heard out front of the Lake County Courthouse in Polson. The group of ladies emphasizes they are “not against the troops.” Several said they have close family who have served or are serving in Iraq currently.

“We’re anti-violence, rape and murder, not just war. We want our men and women home and we want people to understand that peace isn’t off the table,” said Suzanne Luepke of Polson.

They aim to change a perceived mindset that war is a foregone conclusion.

The group encourages anyone interested to join them. Peace-loving dogs are welcome as well.

Before they disperse, the group of peace proponents read the world peace prayer together, aloud.

The prayer reads, “Lead me from death to life, from falsehood to truth. Lead me from despair to hope, from fear to trust. Lead me from hate to love, from war to peace. Let peace fill our hearts, let peace fill our world, let peace fill our universe.”
