RONAN — We had 64 people show up for our birthday dinner last Friday, which shows that Montanans are tough enough to withstand the cold. From listening to the news, I think that we are living in the “banana belt.”

Our monthly evening meal is this Thursday, Dec.12, and we will serve chicken. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. and the cost is $5 per person. The Center on Aging and the Ronan Senior Citizens’ Center will draw tickets for their raffles on that day.

Cards will be played here at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 16.

The foot clinic will be here at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18. Please call (406) 676-23710 and we will get your name on the list.

December 18 is also the date of our Christmas dinner. We will start serving our ham dinner at noon. Please come on in and join us.

We will be closed on Christmas Day and our December birthday dinner will be on Friday, Dec. 27.

Our menu for the rest of the month is:

•  Wednesday, Dec. 11: sloppy Joes

•  Thursday, Dec. 12: chicken

•  Friday, Dec. 13: chicken and dressing casserole

•  Monday, Dec.16: spaghetti

•  Wednesday, Dec.18: ham

•  Friday, Dec. 20: ham and bean soup

•  Monday, Dec. 23: sausage gravy and biscuits

•  Wednesday, Dec. 25: we are closed

•  Friday, Dec. 27: roast beef

•  Monday, Dec. 30: beef stew

Our meals are served at noon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The cost of meals is only $4 if you are 60 years or older. Our evening meal is on the second Thursday of the month at 5 p.m. The cost of this meal is only $5 per person.

You don not have to be a “senior citizen” to join us for any of our meals or functions.

Have a great week, and enjoy the weather — it  could always be worse.
