News from Magazines for Troops

LAKE COUNTY — “Magazines for Troops” is urgently seeking assistance with their Christmas care packages of magazines, gently used paperback books, and DVD movies for our deployed troops stationed overseas in Afghanistan and other remote areas. You donate the postage ($12.35 per box) and we do all the work. For each box adopted, we can include a note letting the recipient know who donated the postage, and a message of your choice wishing them a Merry Christmas and/or thanking them for their service.

We are currently serving more than 275 units, with many servicemen and women in each unit and the USS Harry Truman with 6,000 sailors. New requests come in almost daily; $1,900 is still needed for postage for the boxes not yet in the mail. Approximate postage costs are now more than $3,000 per month.

“Magazines for Troops” is a non-profit 501 (c)3 volunteer organization. All donations are tax deductible and go directly into postage for the magazine boxes. You may visit our website at www.magazinesfortroops or mail a check to us at P.O. Box 909, Lakeside, MT 59922, or if you wish to remain anonymous, we have coin jars in locations all over the Mission Valley.

Please help us make a difference this Christmas, with your gift of care and concern for our deployed military by supplying postage for our Christmas care packages.

If you have any questions, please call Esther Gunlock at (406) 883-1517.

On behalf of Magazines for Troops, Esther and Gene Gunlock and Donna and Doug Chase thank you in advance for your much needed assistance.
