LAKE COUNTY — Law enforcement officials spent Monday responding to numerous wrecks across Lake County.

At approximately 10:50 a.m. a head-on collision with a single fatality was reported on Highway 212 near mile marker 6 in Moiese. Plains resident Patricia S. Mcdougall, 60, was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m., a woman driving northbound in Ronan veered of the roadway to avoid rear-ending a slower driver in front of her. The car continued to slide on the icy-shoulder, until it hit a fence. The driver, whose name was not released by law enforcement, was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital as a precaution.

Tribal officer Arlen Auld who responded to the accident, said drivers should be careful on roadways.

Other wrecks and slideoffs were reported in Polson and Arlee.
