Editor,

I have lived on this earth and in this country for 66 years and during that time I have seen many things that have raised questions in my mind. One of those questions is: who has always benefited most from alcohol and other drug distribution? It is our government as far as I can see. Who benefits most from war? Again, our government gains lots of money and power, not the people from either side.

Who will benefit most from our new affordable health care law? Prior to this law, taxpayer money was to hospitals for people who needed healthcare and could not afford it and that worked for years, and as far as I know there were few complaints. My question here is, where will those billions of dollars go now?

What about the hundreds of military contractors that bleed billions of dollars from us to, as they say, support the military? When I was in the Marine Corps we took care of ourselves. Why have we come to a place where very highly paid civilians have to “support the military?”

Who benefits from addiction? Why are there so few services available for the people who contract this disease when our government makes trillions of dollars through the sin tax they implemented? That money was supposed to be used for the treatment of addiction. Why, since here in Montana we have the highest per-capita alcohol consumption in the United States, do we get the least amount of money? Why do we only have one state funded inpatient treatment center? Why is the only access to long-term treatment for addiction only available through Adult Probation and Parole?

My last question is: who benefits from the overpopulation of wolves in our state? When our state legislature signed us into the re-introduction of these wild dogs that are destroying our game animals, who made the money and who is still making the money?
