POLSON — The lights were dim and the pews were full when the Mission Valley Choral Society, the Copeland Memorial Ringers and the Flathead Flute Choir presented “A Light Christmas.”

The concert was held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 3 p.m. on Dec. 15.

Mason Niblack, who conducts the choir, welcomed the audience and said no one is really sure how many concerts have been given over the years. The choir has been in existence for 50 years and some singers have been involved with the choir for 30 years.

Niblack chose the theme for the four themes of light, peace, hope, joy and love, celebrated during Christmas.

Selections included “Mary, Did You Know,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” jazz versions of “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear,” “The Coventry Carol,” and “Angels We Have Heard on High.”

The Copeland Memorial Ringers received a big hand for “Fum, Fum, Fum,” on both bells and mallets.

Audience members said they came to the concert to enjoy the Christmas spirit and fellowship, celebrate the joy of the season and support friends and family members who sing or play an instrument.
