RONAN — This has been a very busy couple of weeks and now that Christmas is here, hopefully things will slow down a little. (Except, now it’s tax time). As we go into the New Year lets hope that things slow down a bit and that next year doesn’t go by so quickly.

The card players met here on Dec. 16 with 16 players present. Esther Bick had the high score, Marie Cowen had the low score, Peg Johnson had the most pinochles and Bob Watson won the door prize. They will meet again here at the Ronan Center on Monday, Jan. 20, at 1 pm. You can call the other centers to see when cards will be played there.

Our birthday dinner is this Friday, Dec. 27. We serve at noon and all are invited to attend. We will be closed on Wednesday, Jan 1, for New Years.

Our board meeting will be at 10 a.m. on Monday Jan. 6. All board members and alternates are urged to attend, as there are several things to be taken care of.

What with the weather and the time of year, our afternoon activities (Bingo and crafts) have sort of fallen by the wayside. Hopefully, they will be in full swing again after the first of the year. We are also hoping to add a movie on Monday afternoons, following lunch. (BYOPC - Bring your own popcorn). We have a Wii game and could get a good “exercise/game time” going. We are planning to put to good use the DVD player and two TVs donated to us.

If you haven’t picked up your raffle prizes from the Center on Aging, please do so as soon as possible.

Menu for Dec./Jan. is:

•  Wednesday, Dec. 25: we are closed

•  Friday, Dec. 27: roast beef

•  Monday, Dec. 30: beef stew

•  Wednesday, Jan. 1: we are closed

•  Friday, Jan. 3: pizza

Have a great week and enjoy the holidays.
