Ethel K. “Lennie” Allison

ST. IGNATIUS — Ethel K. “Lennie” Allison, 87, long time resident of St. Ignatius, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital in Ronan.

Born in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, Lennie was the oldest of four children to Nels Klopp and Grace Lenora Nicolson Klopp. She grew up on a farm in Northern Minnesota. She moved to Southern California as a teenager and graduated high school in 1940.  In 1945 she worked in New York as an executive secretary for RCA. She moved back to Southern California and met a US Marine Corps. sergeant, Charles “Red” Allison, and they were married in 1954. To this union came one child, Rochelle Allison. In 1989, she started work as a domestic for the Jesuit Fathers for 18 years. 

Lennie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Betty Jean and Charlotte May, brother Everette. 

She is survived by previous husband Charles “Red” Allison, their daughter Rochelle, grandchildren Adaire Rene’ and Linus J. Big Beaver. Also long time dear friend George Ivanoff, numerous nieces and nephews, and canine companion Cosmo.

Visitation was on Wednesday at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory in St. Ignatius.  Rosary begins at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral is Friday July 29 at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church, with Mass beginning at 11 a.m. A meal is to follow in the basement of the St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
