POLSON — A full moon and beautiful weather made July 23-26 an interesting weekend, according to PPD Chief Doug Chase. Chase said law enforcement responded to 109 incidents.
However, Chase stressed the numbers did not reflect on the Flathead Lake 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. Most of the incidents occurred at night after hoopfest was finished for the day, Chase said. In general, people were excellent to work with, and nobody was badly injured.
“The last two weeks of July and the first two weeks of August are always wild and wooly,” Chase said.
Nine folks were cited for disorderly conduct with one man going to jail, one for theft, one person was arrested for assault with a weapon, which fortunately was not used, three for simple assault, one for threats and one minor-in-possession-alcohol. Chase said there were two ambulance calls, one for a 22-year-old who did not drink any fluids all day Saturday.
Extra officers were on duty, Chase said and added that Anderson Broadcasting contributed to pay for the additional hours. Chase also thanked Tribal Law Enforcement and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office for their cooperation and assistance.
