PABLO – The Salish Kootenai College Foundation received a $50,000 gift from the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes to support Salish Kootenai College’s Capturing the Vision Capital Campaign. This five-year pledge of $50,000 launches a new era for Salish Kootenai College, and supports the Foundation’s goal of raising $20 million in five years.

“Salish Kootenai College and the Salish Kootenai College Foundation are tremendously thankful for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe’s donation and commitment to supporting education and the long-term advancement of Salish Kootenai College,” said Foundation Director Angelique Albert. “Through support and donations like this, Salish Kootenai College will grow even stronger for future generations of students.”

Capturing the Vision is a five-year, $20 million fundraising campaign that will support life-changing opportunities to enrich each student’s experience, which will in turn strengthen the college as a whole.

Capturing the Vision focuses on five funding priorities:

• Student Success ($5 Million)

• Academic Excellence ($4 Million)

• Campus Infrastructure ($4 Million)

• Increasing Community Capacity ($2 Million)

• Culture & Legacy ($5 Million)

These priorities build on the dreams of the people who dedicated their lives to make SKC one of the most accomplished Tribal Colleges in the United States. The institution is a beacon to the Salish, Pend d’Oreille, and Kootenai people, and Indian people throughout the nation.

The Salish Kootenai College Foundation was established in 1988 for the express purpose of supporting Salish Kootenai College and managing an endowment, which is currently valued at approximately $10 million. The foundation awards an estimated $260,000 in scholarships each year. The Foundation also assists with costs related to buildings, facilities, faculty programs, and academic endeavors. Our mission is to ensure that the Salish Kootenai College has the ability to provide quality post-secondary education opportunities for Native Americans locally and throughout the United States.
