RONAN — A power line was dislodged off its pole on Tuesday morning in Ronan after a Pablo resident drove his car off U.S. Highway 93 and into the pole on the west side of the highway.

At approximately 11:10 a.m. Tom Hendricks pulled out of the Community Bank parking lot, heading south on U.S. Highway 93. He was distracted for friends across the street when he drifted off of the road and crashed into the pole, which supported a streetlight and a power line.

The pole remained vertical but was slightly off center and glass from the light littered the grass and U.S. Highway 93.

Hendricks was the only occupant of the green Ford Fusion and apparently suffered no injuries in the crash. A significant amount of damage was done to the front passenger section of the car. The Ronan Police Department, Ronan Ambulance and the Ronan Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call immediately.

Mission Valley Power arrived at 11:37 a.m. to fix the power line and there were no power outages due to the wreck.
