Editor,

Related to a brief article on page 6 of the Valley Journal entitled Mystery books arrive in Lake County, I wish to express my concern. The article refers to a book found in our mailboxes entitled “The Great Controversy.” It comes without saying that any religious organization that produces a book which does not have on it the author’s name or the organization which took the liberty to encroach upon our mail boxes carries very little respect. The internal cover refers to the fact that the original text belonged to E. G. White. It is difficult if not impossible to know if this is the original text. I, with a great number of others, did scratch my head wondering why I was the recipient of this poorly-written and difficult-to-read expose. Any material of this nature without open honest disclosure is from a cult and not to be trusted. However, after over 40 years in the ministry in a predominant denomination and with thirteen of those years in administration, it is not hard to discern a wolf in sheep’s clothing. I would say boldly that any religious denomination that is not prepared to declare themselves publicly is definitely not Biblical. I further want to remove any doubt about the organization of which I am the president, namely Point of Turning Ministries, which is a local email-based ministry registered as a religious nonprofit corporation in the state of Montana and headquartered in Ronan. We produce a sermonette or devotional entitled “Sunday Bulletin,” which is emailed to our Email Family on Saturday evening and carries our email address, from which anyone can receive information of our organization and financial status.

Rev. Francis McGeaughay
