Arlee sends off 34 grads

ARLEE — Arlee High School’s 2012 graduating class proved to be an outstanding group of young people long before the 34 students crossed the stage to receive their diplomas. According to guidance counselor Misty Brien, 28 seniors were awarded scholarships totaling $284,590, and that’s not even counting a handful of full-tuition sports scholarships and Logan Lefler’s Gates Millennium Scholarship.

“It was one of our best years,” Brien said.

Valedictorian Carter Clinkenbeard and salutatorian Courtney Dix both returned from their first semester of college for the May 27 graduation, and the senior class chose their advisor and English teacher Cindy Noland to give the commencement speech.
