Editor,

The students and instructors of the Salish Kootenai College Highway Construction Training Program have recently completed road improvements at the site of the Ewam Garden project located north of Arlee. We wish to express our gratitude for a job well done.

Thank you to Scott Harmon for directing the project and for his advice and experienced knowledge, and also to instructors Dan Whitworth and Bill Tanner for their skills and attention to the details. The students demonstrated professionalism on the project, and we are pleased and fortunate to have been a part of their training in field experience.

The garden is being developed as a public international center for peace, as the endeavor of the Ewam Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism, a non-profit organization. Upon completion it will be open year round to all visitors and will serve as a gathering place for the community as well as a destination for travelers.

The quality work which the SKC program has done on the project will be enjoyed by the many people who come to visit the garden. Interpretive tours are currently offered every Saturday at 1 p.m. and all are welcome to visit and learn more about the project.
