Editor,

Where were you Lake County?

The Liberty Convention held in Missoula this past weekend was awesome. Too bad you missed it. Several speakers of national renown came to discuss not only where our country got off track, but also what might be done to fix it. A tremendous amount of time and effort went into planning this event, and it fell on the deaf ears of many.

It’s a shame you were too busy attending to your sporting events, tending to your garden, or that you were deterred by the cool weather.

It’s too bad your priorities did not include standing with other citizens concerned about our country to make a statement for freedom and liberty. Also, please know that the enemies of freedom, and there are many, did take note of your absence, and rejoiced.

I am writing this letter to respectfully request that from here forward, you stop complaining about what is wrong with our country, the politicians or the economy. Whining accomplishes nothing.

I know that many of you are concerned about our country, but choose to pretend a problem doesn’t exist, that our country is strong enough to ward off the attacks against it without any work on your part. Perhaps you think you will go to bed one night, and voila, you will wake up in the morning to see that someone else took care of the problem for you.

Perhaps you’ve chosen to put it all in God’s hands, expecting that he will take care of it. After all, he wouldn’t let the evil permeating our government and our institutions overcome all the good that is America. You couldn’t be more wrong. Even God needs something to work with, and you are giving him nothing.

Please continue to sit home and stay out of the way.  When our country collapses around us, I request that you continue to sit at home. Do not come to my door looking for food, or for answers.  You will be turned away. I refuse to help people who choose not to help themselves, or our country.
