POLSON — Last week Desmond Mackay, 35, Polson, pleaded not guilty in district court to killing his father-in-law with a hammer.
He pleaded guilty to one charge of deliberate homicide and an additional charge of felony assault with weapon in Lake County District Court.
Mackay’s father-in-law, John Barrows, died March 15 of injuries sustained in the March 5 Polson attack. Mackay allegedly was trying to hit his brother-in-law with a hammer when he mistakenly hit Barrows in the head.
An omnibus hearing was set for April 24. A jury trial is scheduled for June 23.
