County investigating cow’s strange death

VALLEY VIEW — Lake County Sheriff's deputies responded to a Valley View ranch on Saturday morning, June 30, to investigate the death of an adult cow. The cow's death appears to be non-natural, as some of the meat from the animal had been cut off and some of the organs were removed.
A local veterinarian responded to the ranch to perform a necropsy on the animal. Samples collected from the necropsy are being sent to a Colorado lab in order to determine the animal's cause of death. Based on the cow's condition, it appears that the animal was killed some time around Wednesday, June 27.
