Editor,

As is tradition during the Mother’s Day weekend, on May 6-8 Cabaret took place in the RMS Auditorium. It was already the 28th Annual Cabaret that Cathy Gillhouse and her Show Choir put together.

There had been announcements and advertisements for Cabaret in the Valley Journal long before the show. Therefore, I was a lot surprised to not find any article or report about the show in the last Thursday’s newspapers, even though there were many articles about other sport or community events that took place.

Most people who saw the performance said they loved it and that they had a great time watching it.

This year’s theme was “The Time Machine,” which included several music stars such as The Beatles, Michael Jackson or Elvis Presley coming back through time to sing and dance for the audience. Show choir members and all the staff had a lot of fun doing this for the community. There were even some tears on the seniors’ faces at the end of Saturday’s performance.

Such a show that has been going on for 28 years and which is quite popular among the community would really deserve an article about it. It would tell people that hadn’t come what they had missed. It would refresh memories and bring some interesting facts to those who came, and it would certainly cause little smiles on faces of show choir members and all the staff working on this show.

So maybe next year?
