Arlee, Charlo teams compete at Thompson Falls Invitational

THOMPSON FALLS – Arlee and Charlo boys and girls track and field teams all made a splash at the Thompson Falls track and field meet on Thursday. 

On the girls’ side, the Scarlets finished at third with 77.5 points while the Lady Vikings placing fourth out of nine with a team score of 65. 

For the Scarlets, second places went to Alex Adams (100-meter), Jessica Knoll (400) and Becca Whitesell (1600). Adams also placed third in the pole vault and Knoll secured third in the 800. Scarlet Whitney Malatare placed third in the long jump. Fourth place finishers included Adams (long jump) and Whitesell (800). In relay, the Scarlets took first in the 1,600 and third in the 400.

Lady Viking Jordan Ludeman was the sole first place finisher for the valley teams, clearing 8-6 in the pole vault event. Aspen Runkel took second in the 300 hurdles for the Lady Vikings. Charlo’s Madison Foust finished in the three spot in the 100-meter as did Shayna Nagy (200-meter) and Carly Hergett (100-meter hurdles). Lady Viking Sienna Brown placed fourth in the 100-meter. The Lady Vikings placed first in the 400 and third in the 1,600.

On the boys’ side, the Charlo Vikings placed second with a team score of 119.5. Arlee placed eighth with a team score of 12. 

The Vikings boasted first-place wins in both relay races while three Vikings took top spots in individual events. Viking Jacen Peterson launched himself 11 feet to take first in the pole vault. Kail Pope ruled the hurdle events, out sprinting and jumping his opponents to take first in both the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles. Manual Ammann took first in the 3,200 and Tyler Delaney finished second in the 400 and fourth in the 200. Third place finishers include Michael Delaney (100-meters, 300 hurdles) and Dugan Runkel (shot put). Finishing in fourth were Vikings Connor Daugherty (400-meters, 800-meters) and Stetson Stipe (110 hurdles).

For the Arlee Warriors, Harold Yokum placed third in 110 hurdles while Arlee placed fourth in the 1,600 relay.

Arlee will host a meet April 24 with Two Eagle River also in attendance. Then they will head to Seeley April 26 and Missoula April 29. Charlo will compete in Corvallis April 25 and Missoula April 29.

Girls

Team scores – Plains 182, Thompson Falls 108, Arlee 77.5, Charlo 65, Libby 22, Lincoln 17, St. Regis 14, Superior 9.5, Noxon 8.
