The Warriors saw both extremes this week as Arlee survived a one-point game at Noxon Saturday after picking up a blowout win over Seeley-Swan Friday.

After taking a 43-35 lead after three quarters in Noxon Saturday, the Warriors got all they could handle in the fourth quarter as the Red Devils fought back to take the lead late in the game. The Warriors answered with a late surge though, as Arlee was able to pull out a 51-50 victory.

The 8-2 (4-1) Warriors got 19 points from Jesse Pfau and 16 from Kasey Bridgewater in the win while the Red Devils were led by Banks Stocking with 19 points and 14 rebounds.

The 3-7 (2-3) Red Devils were able to erase a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter while the Warriors made just 13-24 from the foul line (54 percent).

While the Warriors won the scoring battle in all four quarters against Seeley-Swan at home Friday, Arlee used the second and third quarters to truly pull away. The Warriors held a 15-9 lead after eight minutes of play and then used a 44-16 run over the next 16 minutes to build a 59-25 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Thomas McClure led the way for the Warriors with 16 points while Pfau added 14 and Eneas Inmee came off the bench to score 10.

Bobby Russell scored 17 to lead the Blackhawks, who are still winless this season (0-9).

The Scarlets had a tough week as they suffered losses against Noxon and Seeley-Swan.

The trio of Kim Marich, Cara Stettler and Jordyn Wilkinson were too much for the Scarlets to handle at Noxon Saturday as the three players combined to score all of Lady Red Devils' points in a 37-33 victory.

The Scarlets had two players in double figures as Whitney Malatare scored 11 and Kristyn Adams added 10 but Marich scored 19 and added 10 rebounds to lead Noxon while Stettler had 12 points and 13 boards and Wilkinson added six points and nine rebounds.

Noxon jumped about to a 10-5 lead after one quarter but Arlee answered with an 11-4 run in the second frame to grab a 16-14 halftime advantage. Noxon took over in the second half, outscoring the Scarlets 23-17 to get the win.

Early threes by Seeley-Swan were too much for the Scarlets to recover from at home Friday as the Blackhawks hit three of their five treys in the game's opening moments.

Seeley-Swan jumped out to a 15-4 lead after one quarter, but the Scarlets were able to cut their deficit to 21-19 at the half. The Blackhawks pulled away in the third quarter with a 13-4 run as Seeley-Swan went on to earn a 42-30 victory.

Malatare led the Scarlets with eight points while Alexis Schick and Mahalia Hendren each added six.

Both teams will be back in action Saturday as Arlee hosts St. Regis. The Scarlets play at home Monday as they host Mission.
