Maidens put up huge numbers in winning week

EUREKA – The Maidens were unstoppable as they mowed through Western B-C teams with incredible force last week.
In Eureka on Monday, the Maidens snatched two away from the Lady Lions, combining for 35 runs between the double-header. In game one Ronan put up 11 runs in the second and third innings only to seal the deal in the fifth by adding another 13. The Maidens grabbed the 24-2 win easily. Alaina Madsen got the win for the Maidens, striking out eight. Madsen was also 3-4 with three RBIs. Kaitlyn Sassaman, Courtney Taylor, and Kiana Brown each added three RBI’s apiece.
For the nightcap game, Ronan scored eight runs in the first and held Eureka at one, taking home the 11-1 win. Madsen logged another eight K’s for the Maidens and Amanda Morencey rocked the plate, going 3-4.
On Saturday the Maidens toppled the Drummond’s Lady Bulldogs in Drummond, outscoring the Lady Bulldog club by 33 runs between the two games. In the opener the Maidens smashed Drummond, shutting out the Lady Bulldogs 24-0. McKenzie Dulmes had a perfect 3-3 performance at the plate and added three RBIs. Kendra Starkel chipped in a pair of runs-batted-in with a long double.
In game two Ronan claimed the 14-4 victory behind Starkel’s 3-4 and two RBI’s. Morency and Danielle Richwine each added an additional two RBIs each.
The Maidens will play Mission at home May 8 and host Thompson Falls May 10.
