Wintry weather doesn’t stop Jingle Bell Joggers

POLSON — The sun broke out for the Jingle Bell Jog on Jan. 8, but temperatures were in the single digits for runners and walkers on the 3.1-mile course.
Cold weather, wind and icy puddles didn’t stop the 80 participants who completed the race according to Polson Running Race director Tyana Smith. Racers came from Kalispell, Missoula, Pablo, Polson, Rollins and Ronan.
“Some of our participants donated more than the race fee, and we were able to raise $504 that will be donated to Mission Valley Aquatics,” Smith added.
First place finishers Jill Clark, 23.24, and Matt Seeley, 18.44, each received a $20 gift certificate from Jackie M’s Footwear.
Folks who missed the Jingle Bell Jog can plan for the 5K or 10K March Meltdown on March 13.
“We want to remind the community that these events are for everyone, no matter gender, shape, size, height or weight. We want to encourage you to get up and move to become healthier,” Smith explained.
