ST. IGNATIUS – Although the Lady Bulldogs roughed through Thursday’s loss to Loyola-Sacred Heart at home, they bounced back and took a pair of wins from Eureka.
While keeping it close, MAC struggled to gain their bats on the ball, limiting themselves to only three hits against Loyola-Sacred Heart and tumbling 3-6 to the Missoula team. Despite the loss, shortstop Jordyn Eichert smashed a triple, bringing in a run for the Lady Bulldogs.
Saturday MAC hosted Eureka in which would be a commanding sweep, outscoring the Lady Lions by 31 runs over the double-header. Game one, played under the heat of some spring sunshine, brought the Lady Bulldogs their first win of the day as they tromped Eureka 11-1. Pitcher Courtney Charlo allowed only three hits from the circle while Emilie Charlo had a perfect game at the plate going 3-3 with three runs batted in. Ran’Dee Charlo added a pair of RBIs with a double.
In game two the Lady Bulldogs bats exploded, logging 16 hits against the Lady Lions’ pitching. Emilie Charlo, Morgan Malatare and Courtney Charlo combined for 12 RBIs with four apiece and all three finding the second base bag with a double. MAC will end their regular season with the 23-2 win over Eureka bringing their season record to 14-7 overall, 11-7 league play.
MAC will host Thompson Falls for a play-in game on Tuesday for the Western B-C Divisional Tournament, hosted by Ronan May 23-24.
