Marylin Johns (Amende)

RONAN — Marylin Johns (Amende) passed away peacefully on May 16 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Ronan.

Marylin was born May 9, 1941, in Sheridan, Wyoming. She is the second of Henry and Wyona Amende’s six children. She grew up in Clearmont, Wyoming with her many friends and large extended family. Marylin moved with her family to Ronan in 1959. She graduated from Ronan High School that same year.

On April 7, 1962, she married William (Bill) Gardner of Ronan and they had three children. Bill and Marylin divorced in 1980, but continued to have a very close friendship until her passing. Marylin later married Dale Johns of Ronan and they later divorced.

Marylin was a very devoted mom and wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards and sharing stories. She was gifted at crocheting and left many beautiful pieces for her family to remember her by. Even though she may have not been your relation she was still your grandma; one of the many ways she showed this was with the booties she crocheted and donated to the obstetrics department at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Marylin was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Wynona Amende; her sister Barbara and infant sister Nina.

She is survived by her son Tracy (Kris) Gardner of Arlee; daughter April (Mike) Smith of Hauser, Idaho; and son Casey Gardner of Arlee; sisters Faith Amende and Daphne Snow both of Utah; brother Hank Amende of Ronan; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Cremation had taken place. Per Marylin’s request no services will be held. A celebration of life will be later in the summer with family and friends. Donations can be made in Marylin’s name to a charity of your choice.
