News from Cheerful Heart, Inc.
POLSON — Cheerful Heart, Inc. has served Lake County cancer patients for 12 years. The Polson-based non-profit organization provides non-medical services at no charge to county cancer patients who are currently in treatment.
Cheerful Heart services vary from transportation to treatment and doctor appointments, running errands, yard-work to meal preparation, walking dogs and more. Cheerful Heart connects with cancer patients at the clinic Tuesdays on the third floor of St. Joseph’s Hospital. Volun-teers serve soup and snacks to patients. There’s a lending area for: books; wigs; hats; and scarves. A Cancer Support Group meets from noon to 1 p.m. two Mondays a month at the United Methodist Church in Polson.
In 2012 Cheerful Touch was established where massage therapists and cosmetologists help with skin and hair issues and massages at no charge.
