News from Cheerful Heart, Inc.

POLSON — Cheerful Heart, Inc. has served Lake County cancer patients for 12 years. The Polson-based non-profit organization provides non-medical services at no charge to county cancer patients who are currently in treatment.

Cheerful Heart services vary from transportation to treatment and doctor appointments, running errands, yard-work to meal preparation, walking dogs and more. Cheerful Heart connects with cancer patients at the clinic Tuesdays on the third floor of St. Joseph’s Hospital. Volun-teers serve soup and snacks to patients. There’s a lending area for: books; wigs; hats; and scarves. A Cancer Support Group meets from noon to 1 p.m. two Mondays a month at the United Methodist Church in Polson.

In 2012 Cheerful Touch was established where massage therapists and cosmetologists help with skin and hair issues and massages at no charge.

Call the message line at (406) 883-3070 for more information or check out the web site www.cheerfulheart.org.
