Thelma Stephens

ST. IGNATIUS — Thelma Stephens, 95, was born Aug. 27, 1918, in Ceres, Calif. She went to sleep on June 11, 2014.

She loved to work and was one of the best waitresses you could have wait on you. Her motto was “Customers come first” and “Wear good shoes.” She had the best smile, ever. Dancing and gardening were her second and third loves.

Thelma’s husband Steve preceded her in death as well as her son Robert J. Allen; and her sisters Wilma Mendoza and Alice Norwood.

Thelma lived with her daughter Loretta Merchant in St. Ignatius. She also has a son Fred C. Allen, who lives in Chehalis, Wash. as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren around Nevada, Washington, California and Washington,

It was our privilege, myself (Loretta), Chelsee and Chase to care for her in our home, “What Memories.”

She’s in God’s Memory now and peacefully sleeping waiting for Acts 24:15 to be fulfilled. As she requested there will be no services. Her joy, knowing God’s promise in Rev 21:4 “No more pain, sorrow or death, It will be done away with.”
