POLSON — Polson’s Main Street Flathead Cherry Festival is set for Saturday and Sunday, July 19 and 20. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event features more than 100 vendors offering local arts and crafts, cherry-themed items, Montana made products, jewelry, personal care, household and garden décor, accessories, and a variety of food court sellers. If the cherry crop is on time, fresh cherries right out of local orchards will be for sale, along with farmers’ market produce. Homemade Flathead cherry pies and other cherry sweet treats from local women’s clubs will be for sale both days.
Games and contests for children and adults take place each afternoon and include pit spitting, pie eating, and judging for the most unique food made with Flathead cherries. Winners will enjoy gift certificates from downtown merchants. Bagpipers will stroll along Main Street and Saturday evening will include a street dance with the Southern Comfort Band. Festival goers can view and vote for their favorite handmade cherry-theme aprons on display throughout Main Street storefronts
