Homicide suspect Harry Lozeau was taken into custody Tuesday without incident at his residence by CSKT Tribal Law and Order Officers after they received a tip about 8 p.m.

Lozeau was transferred to the Lake County Detention Center where he will be processed for arrest.

Lozeau, 53, is suspected in a fatal shooting that occurred at approximately 4 p.m. on Saturday at Lozeau’s residence in the Mollman Pass area southeast of Ronan. The victim was Lozeau’s brother, Terry Lozeau, 51. Lozeau fled the scene in a 1983 Plymouth Reliant.

Between 20 and 30 law enforcement officers were searching for Lozeau. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office was joined in the search by Flathead Tribal Police, Lake County Search and Rescue, US Fish and Wildlife Rangers from the National Bison Range, Confederated Salish and Kootenai Fish and Game officers and the Polson Police Department K-9 unit.

A helicopter from the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office was assisting in the search.

On Monday a citizen’s tip led to the discovery of the Plymouth Lozeau was last seen driving. The car was in a mountainous area east of Ronan. Law enforcement had parts of Mud Lake Trail and Mollmon Pass blocked to the public at different points of the investigation.

This apprehension was the culmination of working partnerships between the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office aviation unit, CSKT Tribal Law and Order, LCSO Search and Rescue, US Fish and Wildlife Bison Rangers from the National Bison Range, CSKT Fish and Game Tribal Rangers and the Polson Police Department K-9 unit.

It is through these types of cooperative partnership that law enforcement officials can enhance the safety of all citizens of and visitors to Northwest Montana and the Flathead Indian Reservation, according to Karen Sargeant, Public Information Officer for the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
