Wallace (Wally) Croft

RONAN — Wallace (Wally) Croft passed away from natural causes on Thursday, June 26, at his home. Wally was born July 6, 1923, to Marvin and Evva Croft in Deseret, Utah. He graduated from Hinckley High School, in Hinckley, Utah, in 1941.

Wally enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and served in the Pacific until the end of WWII. After his discharge from the service he met the love of his life, Gerry. They were married in 1946 and were together 66 years until Gerry’s death in 2013.

They moved from Utah to Whittier, Calif., in 1946 where Wally started as a punch press operator at California Spring Co. Wally worked his way up and retired as plant manager in 1978. Wally and Gerry then moved to Ronan to be near their children and grandkids. Wally worked another 10 years delivering freight in the Mission Valley before fully retiring in 1988.

Wally was a loving husband, father and grandfather and to all that knew him, a real character. Once you met Wally, you never forgot him. His parents Marvin and Evva Croft; his wife Gerry and his brother Leon Croft preceded Wally in death.

His brother Don (Dorothy) Croft of Salt Lake City, Utah; his son Lonny (Ann) Croft of Ronan; his daughter Sherry Fleenor (Bob Lulow) of Ronan; his four grandchildren: Tony (Steve) Knudsuig of Coweta, Okla.; Heather Muth of Ronan; Jesse (Shawna) Croft of Ronan; Dustin (Lisa) Croft of Post Falls, Idaho; 11 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews all survive him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
