News from the Flathead Lake International Cinemafest
POLSON — Early film submission deadline for the 2015 Flathead Lake International Cinemafest is July 31. FLIC and FLIC JR. (a film competition for students 22 years and under) will be held Jan. 23-25, 2015, in Polson. Film submission fees for FLIC increase by $10 after July 31 until the final submission deadline on Sept. 15. FLIC Jr. submission fees will remain at $10.
FLIC is now three years old and the success of the second year was reflected in a two and three-fold increase in online sales, attendance, numbers of films screened and the number of filmmakers and crew members in attendance. FLIC will continue to accept a broad slate of domestic and international films. The 2015 festival is collaborating with Salish Kootenai College in presenting a slate of films by, for, or about indigenous topics.
Films of all genres can be submitted through the FLIC website at www.flicpolson.com under the “Submit A Film” tab or the Withoutabox website at www.withoutabox.com.
All submitted films will be juried by a panel of judges made up of experts within the field of film and local community members. Films selected to be part of the festival will be showcased during the festival and are eligible to receive “Best Of” awards in several categories.
