RONAN — After 10 years under the direction of Frank Ciez, Pablo Elementary will have a new principal this school year.
Former Ronan High Vice School Principal Ryan Fisher will be at the helm in Pablo, 22 years after he graduated high school from the district.
“It’s a privilege to serve the district that once served me as a student,” Fisher said. “It’s an honor to give back to this community and I am thrilled at the chance to work with the entire staff at Pablo Elementary. They have established and maintain a positive school environment and have done an excellent job providing students with a solid foundation to anchor future learning.”
Fisher received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education in 1997 and a master’s degree in education leadership from the University of Montana in 2009.
He has 15 total years in education, with 10 years spent teaching and coaching and five years spent in administration. He has taught in three Montana school districts, with two of them located on Indian Reservations.
He moved back to Ronan to teach in 2004 and served as an English teacher and wrestling and football coach before entering administration.
Fisher and his wife Jennifer have an 8-year-old son named Tristan.
For Fisher, teaching is a family affair. His mother and stepfather both work in the district. His brother is a teacher in Polson and his sister is finishing her education degree.
When he isn’t at work, Fisher enjoys hunting, fishing, camping hiking, backpacking, whitewater rafting and sports.
