Ranching music shared
POLSON — Mission Valley Live brings The Ringling 5, singing ranchers and farmers, to perform at the Polson High School auditorium on Friday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m. This group tells the story of the modern-day West through songs the whole family can enjoy. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased in Ronan at R&R Health Care Plus and True Value Hardware and in Polson at 1st Interstate Bank and the Perfect Shot Tavern.

POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library will be closed on Jan. 20 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 10 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

Dennison to speak on Montana politics
POLSON — Humanities Montana Conversation: “Montana’s Changing Political Landscape,” with Mike Dennison, will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 6:30 p.m. at the North Lake County Public Library. Mike Dennison, chief political reporter for the Montana Television Network, has spent most of the past three decades reporting on politics and public policy in Montana, for newspapers, television and the wire services. This year he released a new book, “Inside Montana Politics: A Reporter’s View from the Trenches.” He will talk about the trends that have shaped the political landscape in Montana.

Barron to address Lake County Pachyderms
POLSON — The Lake County Pachyderms invite the community to hear Bill Barron, Lake County commissioner, share his thoughts about the Montana Water Rights Protection Act. He will discuss the long-term implications for Lake County from the perspective of his office: in terms of the budget from loss of property taxes, public right of ways, as well as ceding CSKT the National Bison range. The meeting will take place from noon to 1 p.m. at the Polson Rural Fire Station off Regatta Road. For more information call 406-676-2370.

Kiwanis host ‘Pints for a Purpose’
POLSON — On Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 4:30-8 p.m. at Glacier Brewery, 6 Tenth Ave. E, the Kiwanis Club will host “Pints for a Purpose,” a family-friendly fundraiser to support Special Olympics. Hot dogs, chili, beer and non-alcoholic options will be available. Donations to Special Olympics are appreciated.

POLSON — A Zen meditation class is offered at the YogaHeart Studio on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 6 p.m. at 209 Ridgewater Drive.
