Join NW Accordion Association dance
POLSON —The Northwest Accordion Association Community Dance will be held on Jan. 6, 2019 from 2-5 p.m. at the Elks on Main St. There will be a variety of music you can listen or dance to. You do not have to be a member of the Elks or the Accordion Association. Remember, if you sing or play you don’t pay. Admission is $2 for members, $3 for non-members, and $5 to become a member of the association. Everyone is welcome, to play, sing, dance or just listen. Come and join us if you can.

Rural Fire District Board to meet
POLSON – The regular monthly meeting of the Polson Rural Fire District board of trustees will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 6 p.m.at the fairgrounds station number 1, 25B Regatta Rd. An agenda is available the Monday prior to meeting on the website: polsonruralfiredistrict.org.

POLSON — The North Lake County Library will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 10, for a staff development day.

Free dinner served
POLSON — The next community dinner will be served at the First Presbyterian Church, 304 Fourth Ave. E, on Friday, Jan. 11, from 5-6:15 p.m. This dinner is free and everyone is welcome.
Wednesday, January 16
Join fun at community dance
POLSON — Join others at the community dance at the Elks on Main Street at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16. Dancing or watching goes on in the ballroom until 10 p.m. with snacks provided during an 8:30 p.m. break. Music is provided by Ken’s Combo and they play a variety of vintage country and rock and roll. Everyone is welcome. No Elks membership is required. The cover charge is $5. Come and check us out.
Lake County Democrats to discuss election
POLSON — Lake County Democrats will meet at the Polson Library on Wednesday, Jan. 16, from 6:30- 8:30 p.m. We will review, discuss and critique the 2018 election results. All precinct officers are encouraged to attend. Vacant precinct officer positions will be discussed. Other business will involve sharing ideas to encourage citizens to consider filing/ applying for local municipal races, school boards and miscellaneous boards and commissions throughout the county.

New Aquatic Center director to address Kiwanis Club
POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Thursdays of each month at the KwaTaqNuk Resort in the Koostatah room from noon-1 p.m. Please join us on Jan. 17 when our speaker will be Kris Sampson, the new director of the Mission Valley Aquatic Center. Kris will speak on the center’s 2019 plans to expand the pool and fitness room programs while improving the schedules and making more opportunities for community participation.

‘Wylie and The Wild West’ to perform
POLSON — On Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. in the Polson High School Auditorium, “Wylie and the Wild West,” known internationally for their captivating presentation of original and traditional music of America will perform. Wylie is a gifted singer, songwriter, rancher, horseman, and world-famous yodeler. Tickets are $13 dollars advance purchase and $15 at the door. Youth 18 and under are free, college students with ID are $5. Tickets may be purchased at Ronan True Value, R&R Healthcare Solutions, First Interstate Bank, or Perfect Shot Tavern.
Fundraiser held for Mary Rensvold
POLSON — Join in a dinner and auction fundraiser for Mary Rensvold who is battling stage 2B breast cancer. The event takes place on Friday, Jan. 18, at the Polson Elks. A no-host bar begins at 6 p.m.; dinner will be served at 7 p.m. and a live auction will start at 8 p.m. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. Tickets are $20 each and may be purchased at the Polson Elks Lodge, First Interstate Bank, Sweet Bliss, Flathead Coffee Company or by calling Lynn DuCharme at 406-270-2120 or Shelley Croft at 406-250-9060. Call Shelley or Lynn if you have donations for the auction. All proceeds raised will go towards Mary’s medical costs.
