Veterans and families invited to free breakfast
POLSON — On Sunday, Nov. 11, the Mission Valley Elks Lodge No. 1695, 512 Main Street, is hosting a free breakfast from 8-11 a.m. for all veterans and their families as a thank you for serving our country and protecting our freedoms.
Veterans honored with free museum admission
POLSON — Sunday, Nov. 11, marks the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice to end World War I. That day, the Miracle of America Museum is offering free admission to all veterans as well as giving out free pocket constitutions. The museum is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. The WWI exhibit is just one of the many and diversified exhibits that have been enlarged and improved recently.

Free meditation class offered
POLSON — A Zen meditation class is being offered at the YogaHeart Studio, 314 Main Street, at 6 p.m on the following Wednesdays in November: 14 and 28. The classes will be presented by Zen Priest Zenku, Jerry Smyers. There is no charge for the class. Everyone is welcome. For more details call 847-721-0665.
Resource Roundtable to discuss left, right-handed issue
POLSON — Left or right-handed - is the debate real? Who is smarter? How does it impact your decision making? Why does it matter? We will share and review some of the latest brain science around this topic ... as well as our own experiences. Resource Roundtable will meet on Nov. 14 at noon at the Lake County Health Department conference room. Bring a friend. A meal is provided so please RSVP for a count.

POLSON — “Quiet on the Farm” will be the book read at North Lake County Library’s Story Time events at 10:30 a.m. and again at 4 p.m.
Speaker addresses partner violence
POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Thursday of each month at the KwaTaqNuk Resort’s Koostatah room, from noon-1 p.m. Join us on Thursday, Nov. 15, when our speaker will be Bonnie Klein on behalf of PEACE (Prevention and Education of Abuse in Christian Environments). PEACE is a non-profit corporation that raises awareness and provides resources for clergy, victims and perpetrators of intimate partner violence in the Christian community.

POLSON — Friday is movie day at the North Lake County Library. On Nov. 16 at 3:30 p.m. come watch a movie about the boy Alexander that has a lot of bad days, but this one is especially bad.

Learn about author Ursula LeGuin
POLSON — On Saturday, Nov. 17, at 11 a.m. the North Lake County Library will show “Worlds of Ursula K. LeGuin,” a documentary on the life of the influential fantasy and science-fiction author Ursula K. Le Guin. This hour long documentary will explore Ursula’s works and her life story.

Enjoy nursery rhymes, stories with your toddlers
POLSON — The North Lake County Library hosts “Mother Goose,” a half-hour program for toddlers (ages 0-3) and their caregivers on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. Come enjoy nursery rhymes and stories galore.
Ninety minutes of building fun open to all
POLSON — Makerspace is available on Mondays beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the North Lake County Library. This 90-minute program is for kids of all ages and their caregivers any Monday the library is open. Come build, make, and play. The theme for Nov. 19 is “Strange New Planet.”

Join community dance in Polson
POLSON — Please join us for the community dance at the Elks on Main Street on Wednesday, Nov. 21, from 7-10 p.m. in the ballroom. Music is provided by Ken’s Country Combo playing a variety of country and vintage rock and roll. Snacks are provided during break at 8:30 p.m. Drinks and soft drinks are available for purchase in the bar. Fountain water is also available. We will celebrate individuals who have had or will be having birthdays in November with a special cake. Everyone is welcome. An Elks membership is not required. Cover charge for the evening is $5. Come and check us out.

Bring leftovers, watch movie
POLSON — The 4th Thursday’s free “Night at the Museum” takes place on Thanksgiving this year, so bring your leftover treats at 6:30 p.m. to the Miracle of America Museum and help us remember Veterans Day by watching the movie,”Kelly’s Heroes.” This power-packed, action movie mixed with tongue-in-cheek attitude make this one of the most entertaining movies that Clint Eastwood, Donald Sutherland, Telly Savalas, and Don Rickles have made. Free Thanksgiving dinner open to all in Polson
POLSON — The Polson Senior Center; at 504 Third Ave. E, will host the annual Polson Community Thanksgiving dinner, Thursday, Nov. 22, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Dinner is free and open to anyone who wishes to join us. If you need a ride to the center, or a meal delivered, please call 406-883.4735.
