Sheriff to speak at Kiwanis meeting
POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club will meet on Thursday, Nov. 21, at the KwaTakNuk Resort downstairs in the Koostatah room from noon-1 p.m. Join us for lunch when our speaker will be Sheriff Don Bell. Bell will update us on his office and then discuss the need for new jail facilities in Lake County. The Commissioners have scheduled a county mail-in ballot for Jan. 28, 2020. All are welcome to attend.
SPLASH in Polson
POLSON — The Polson Chamber’s November Support Polson Late Afternoon Social Hour sponsor is Miracle of America Museum. The event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 5-7 p.m. at 36094 Memory Lane. The cost is $2. Please come and network with other businesses and meet the SPLASH host. “To serve, support and strengthen our members by enhancing the business climate, promoting our area, and fostering a sense of community.”

Join Friday night movie at library
POLSON — North Lake County Public Library’s movie night takes place on Friday, Nov. 22, at 6 p.m. Family friendly movies (PG or PG13) are shown at 6 p.m. on the fourth Friday of each month. Check our website (northlakecountylibrary.org) for movie titles. You must be in the library before 6 p.m. to attend, as the doors lock at 6 p.m. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and nonalcoholic beverages. Popcorn will be provided. This program is free and open to the public.
Polson school superintendent to speak to Pachyderms
POLSON — The public is invited to our next Pachyderm meeting on Friday, November 22nd noon to 1 pm. Rex Weltz, the Polson superintendent of District 23, will be sharing with our community about why the $60 million bond is being proposed to address needs of public schools in Lake County. Snacks and coffee will be served.

Library closed for holiday
POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, in observance of Thanksgiving and will reopen on Friday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m.
Polson dinner planned
POLSON — The Polson Community Thanksgiving Day meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Polson Senior Citizens Center on Third Avenue E. on Thursday, Nov. 28. Those who would like to donate, need a ride or want a meal delivered, call Tracy Plaiss at 406-471-2333.

Free Fifth Friday dinner held
POLSON – Polson Community Church, located at 1814 First Street E, will have their Fifth Friday dinner on Nov. 29, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Dinner will be yummy comfort food consisting of: stuffed meatloaf, peas, mashed potatoes, salad, biscuits and a wonderful array of desserts. No offering expected or accepted. Please come and join us for a wonderful night of good food and friendship.
Show up for ‘Black Friday’ sale at library
POLSON — The final day of the progressive sale is being held at North Lake County Public Library on Friday, Nov. 29. Purchases made this day will receive a 25 percent discount. Browse and find the perfect gift. Proceeds go towards the purchase of new technology and other items for library patrons.
St. Joseph, Glacier Bank conduct food drive through Dec. 19
POLSON —Providence St. Joseph Medical Center and Glacier Bank are collecting food for local food banks this holiday season. Collection points are located at the Glacier Bank main branch on U.S. Highway 93 in Polson and in the St. Joseph Medical Center lobby. The food drive will begin Friday, Nov. 29, and culminates Thursday, Dec. 19, at the Polson Chamber of Commerce SPLASH between 5-7 p.m. at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center, 6 Thirteenth Ave. E.

Jam at Elks
POLSON — Classic Country Jammin’ will be held on Dec. 1, in the Elks ballroom, on Main Street from 2–5 p.m. This event will continue every first Sunday of each month. Bring your guitar, banjo, mandolin, autoharp, fiddle, drum, bass, sax, keyboard, etc., and join us for a few hours of fun. You must have your own equipment and we recommend you bring your own amp but it’s not mandatory since you may play acoustic. Everyone is welcome to play, sing, dance or just listen. We will have coffee and snacks. Water, drinks and soft drinks are available for sale in the bar and you do not have to be an Elk member to utilize it. The cover charge is $5. POLSON — Group singing enhances a sense of belonging. It also improves our mood, decreases stress and is a natural antidepressant. So, let’s sing together. Join us in the North Lake County Public Library meeting room anytime between 5-6:30 p.m. on Dec. 5 for a seasonal group sing along. Song sheets and live accompaniment are provided along with hot apple cider. If you can’t carry a tune, come anyway; we sing for enjoyment.

POLSON — This year we are so excited to offer Festival of Trees tree viewing for the public on Friday, Dec. 6, at the KwaTaqNuk Resort from 7-9 p.m. Santa will be there for pictures, (bring your own camera), and there will be a hot cocoa bar. A special basket will be raffled off just for Friday night viewers.

Mission Valley Elks host Hoop Shoot, Free Throw contest
POLSON — On Sunday, Dec. 8, in the Polson High School gymnasium the Mission Valley Elks will host a Hoop Shoot, Free Throw contest. Registration and warm up is from 1:30-2 p.m. and the contest begins at 2 p.m. Boys and girls ages 8-13 (age as of April 1, 2020) living in Polson, Ronan and all the surrounding areas are invited. There is no cost to participate and no admission charge. Categories include: 8- to 9-year-old boys and 8- to 9-year-old girls; 10- to 11-year-old boys and 10- to 11-year-old girls; and 12- to 13-year-old boys and 12- to 13-year-old girls. Winners of each age group advance to the District Contest on Jan. 11. Free chili and hotdogs will be served for each contestant and their families after the shoot at the Polson Elks club. Concert to benefit Toys for Tots
POLSON — The Lake Bar presents a free “Make a Kid Smile” concert on Dec. 13 from 6 p.m. to closing. Bring an unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots program and listen to three bands perform: “Off in the Woods,” “The Slickbacks,” and “Free Radicals.”

Join community dance fun
POLSON — Please join us for the community dance at the Elks on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 7-10 p.m. Music is provided by Ken’s Country Combo playing a variety of classic country and vintage rock and roll. Snacks are provided during the 8:30 p.m. Refreshments may be purchased in the bar next door. No Elks membership is required. The cover charge is $5. Come early as Elks members cook up some good hamburgers for purchase from 5-7 p.m., prior to the dance. Everyone is welcome. Come check us out.
