Learn tree care, maintenance
POLSON — Want to make sure your fruit trees, shade trees and conifers all thrive this year and every year? Jack Stivers, Montana State University Lake County Extension Agent, and Rick Jennison, arborist, will teach a free tree care and maintenance class through Polson Adult Education at Polson High School, room 104, on March 13, 14, 15 and 16 from 6-8 p.m. The class will deal with understanding what your trees need and what you can do to keep them healthy. ‘Childhood Exposure to Violence’ examined
POLSON — Join us for Resource Roundtable on March 15 at noon in the Lake County Health Department conference room. This is an opportunity for great networking and amazing conversations, so bring a friend. Celebrate St. Pat’s Day at Community Dance
POLSON — The Community Dance on March 15 will include a celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, so wear green and bring some treats. The celebration and dance takes place at the Elks from 7-10 p.m. and Ken’s Country Combo will provide the music.
Donate blood at St. Joseph
POLSON — During Red Cross Month in March, the American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to join in its lifesaving mission by giving blood. Since 1943, every U.S. president has designated March as Red Cross Month to recognize how the Red Cross helps people across the country and around the world. You can give blood in Polson on March 15 from 11:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m. at St. Joseph Medical Center, 6 Thirteenth Ave. E. Make an appointment by calling 1-800-733-2767.

County attorney speaks at Kiwanis meeting
POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club’s speaker on March 16 will be Lake County Deputy County Attorney, Wally Congdon. Wally will talk about the current civil issues affecting Lake County citizens. The Polson Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Thursday each month at the KwaTaqNuk Resort, Koostatah Room from noon to 1 p.m.

Library hosts free Internet Basics class
POLSON — North Lake County Public Library will host a free Internet Basics class on Tuesday, March 21, at 2 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. in the library meeting room.
Library Specialist Heather Miles will present a basic overview of the Internet and how it works. Attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops or tablets to follow along. Also available will be a group of laptops for attendees who don’t have a device. Anyone of any age or skill level is invited to attend. North Lake County Public Library is located at 2 First Ave. E.

Celebrate the Irish with Celtic coloring
POLSON — North Lake County Public Library will celebrate Irish culture with a Celtic-themed coloring program for adults and teens on Wednesday, March 22. Angela has planned for two sessions (2:30 and 5:30 pm). Local harpist, Debbie Conrad, will provide background music. Angela has some beautiful pages ready to color – all supplies are provided and the program is free and open to the public.

POLSON — A free community dinner will be served at Fellowship Baptist Church, 2 Seventh Ave. E, on Thursday, March 23, at 6 p.m. The menu is Italian and everyone is welcome.

Share thoughts at nonpartisan potluck
POLSON — The community is invited to join a non-partisan, local grassroots group for Potluck for Democracy from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at the Indian Senior Center, 701 First St. E. in Polson. The event is an opportunity to make friends while building community and positive citizenship through sharing food and dialogue about things that matter in the community, state and nation. Please bring a dish to share. The gathering is sponsored by Montana Towns under 10,000 and Flathead Reservation Human Rights Coalition.
