POLSON — March 22, 6:30 p.m., at the Miracle of America Museum, “America - Imagine the world without her,” starring best selling author Dinesh D’Sousa, will be shown. Through fair and candid interviews with America’s critics, Dinesh brings us face to face with the brave heroes who built this great nation. Through reenactments of events in America’s history and interviews with leading historians, Dinesh brings us hope for the future. Commissioner Barron to address Pachyderms about jail, courthouse
POLSON — County Commissioner Bill Barron will speak at the Pachyderm meeting March 23 about the possibility of a private party building the jail on private property to meet federal, state, county, and ACLU specifications. Purchase tickets for Easter basket fundraiser
POLSON — Providence St. Joseph Medical Center’s annual Easter Basket Fundraiser for Lake County Relay for Life has 13 baskets on display in the St. Joe’s lobby. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20 and available at the front desk. The drawings will be held on Thursday, March 29. All proceeds will be given to the American Cancer Society Lake County Relay for Life.

POLSON — The Sandpiper Art and Gift Gallery, 306 Main Street, welcomes you to “Mixing It Up,” Feb. 27-April 6. This is a non-juried art show, open to all artists. Dance to the Waltz, Two Step, Swing, Cha Cha, etc., with Ken’s Country Combo Band. Casual attire. Price is $5. Snacks are provided at break. Drinks are available at the bar. Blacksmith ‘Hammer-In’ planned
POLSON – The Miracle of America Museum is hosting a free workshop for those interested in blacksmithing at any level from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, in the village “Smithy.” Experienced smiths will demonstrate and explain the art of and teach beginners or want-to-be smiths. Participants must have safety glasses or the equivalent prescription glasses, gloves if desired, (although most smiths go gloveless) and appropriate clothing and footwear. Metal will be available for purchase, or bring your own. Each participant will be able to take home a functional or decorative piece that they have made. Scouts interested in working on their “metals” merit badge will find this interesting and fulfilling. Participants under 18 must have a “waiver of liability and release” signed by a parent or guardian. Forms can be emailed or picked up at the museum desk. Pubic invited to dog trials
POLSON — A North America Dog Agility Council agility dog trial sponsored by the A Rover Runs Through It agility club out of Missoula, will be held from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on April 7 and 8 at the Milliron Arena on Cutting Horse Lane, north of Polson. There will be dogs and their handlers from all over the state competing in timed obstacle courses including a variety of challenges. Fundraising breakfast and lunch concessions, provided by the Polson High School’s Spanish Club students, will be available. The public is invited to come, watch and enjoy.

POLSON – The North Lake County Public Library is holding a food drive April 8-14. All contributions will be donated to the Polson Loaves and Fish Food Pantry. Patrons with overdue items or fines on their cards are encouraged to bring sealed, commercially prepared, nonperishable food items to the circulation desk. Fines will be reduced by $1 for each item donated. Please note that forgiveness of fines does not include lost or damaged items. Patrons without fines are also encouraged to join in this event to help replenish the food pantry.

Polson superintendent to address Pachyderms
POLSON – Members of the public are invited by Lake County Pachyderms to hear speaker Rex Weltz, Superintendent of Polson School District, address school safety from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 13 at the Polson Rural Fire Department off of Regatta Road. Montana law allows school boards to arm staff as part of an approved program to improve response time for school safety. Mr. Weltz will discuss this seemingly insurmountable local issue covering ideas and factors involved in the public policy about protecting students. Enjoy 1950s dinner, aid disaster fund
POLSON — Polson United Methodist Church, 301 Sixteenth Ave. E, will host a Dinner and Bingo Party on April 14. Dinner will be served from 6-7 p.m. This will be an old-fashioned 1950s dinner with all the trimmings, including milk shakes and cokes. The cost is $12 per person and no charge for children 5-years and under. There will be door prizes, entertainment, a 50/50 raffle and Bingo. Come for an evening of good food, fellowship and fun. Flathead Historical Museum discussed at Kiwanis meeting
POLSON — Polson Kiwanis Club’s speaker on Thursday, April 19, will be Karen Dunwell, talking about Polson Flathead Historical Museum in Polson. Karen’s grandparents, Olive and Faye McAlear were instrumental in the beginning of the Museum. She will talk about the history and exhibits, newest artifacts and the recent filming by the Travel Channel. A planned event for 2019 involves Flathead Lake monster sightings and a mystery monster fishing tournament. The public is welcome at noon on April 19, downstairs at Best Western KwaTaqNuk Resort, 49708 Highway 93.

Hear about alcohol, corsets, the vote
POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library hosts Montana Conversation, “Alcohol, Corsets, and the Vote: A Conversation with Mary Long Alderson,” with Anne Foster on Friday, April 20, at 2 p.m. This program is free and open to the public. Funding for the Montana Conversations program is provided by Humanities Montana through grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Montana’s Cultural Trust and private donations.
Listen to unique country music
POLSON – Mission Valley Live, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing quality live music to the valley, brings “Twin Kennedy,” to Polson on April 20. “Twin Kennedy” will perform their unique country music sound created from a fusion of folk, jazz and classical music at 7 p.m. at the Polson High School auditorium. Tickets are $13 when purchased in advance purchase and $15 at the door. College students are $5 with college ID. Youth 18 years and younger are admitted free.

POLSON — The 28th annual “Cowboy Ball,” a fundraising banquet and auction, will take place on Friday, April 20, under the big tent at the Polson Fairgrounds. No-host cocktails and a silent auction begin at 5:30 p.m.; dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the live auction starts at 7:30 p.m. Dancing will follow the auction with Sho-Down providing the entertainment. POLSON — The Lake County Council on Aging is hosting their first annual Senior’s Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction.
