POLSON — Join us for the community dance in the ballroom at the Elks on Main Street on Wednesday, April 17, from 7-10:00 p.m. Ken’s Country Combo will provide the music. They play a variety of country and vintage rock and roll. We have Ken Kenmille (guitar and vocalist), Richard Tobel (lead guitar), Liz Steele (accordion), and Betty Carter (southern vocalist). This week we celebrate April birthdays with a cake. Snacks also provided during break at 8:30. Beverages are available for purchase in the bar. Everyone is welcome. Elks membership is not required. The cover charge is $5. Come and check us out.

POLSON — “Invasive Mussels: What You Need to Know” by Tom Bansak will be Mission Mountain Audubon’s evening program on Thursday, April 18 at 7 p.m. in the Polson library meeting room. Everyone is welcome.

POLSON — If you enjoy country-western, vintage rock and roll, or blue grass, this is the dance for you. The Cowboy Country and the Gold Dust Girls will again perform at the Elks ballroom April 19 from 6-9 p.m. This is the popular seven-piece band who played here last January. The cover charge is $6 per person. Beverages will be available for purchase in the bar. Dress is casual. You really won’t want to miss this one. Hope to see you there.

POLSON — The Parents as Teachers Home Visiting program is celebrating Earth Day with a fun-filled “Group Connection” from 3:30-5 p.m. in the Lake County Health Department’s conference room, 802 Main Street. Families with children under 5 years old are invited to come and enjoy some sensory play, crafts, and learn about planting seeds and other ways to enjoy and care for the Earth. Snacks will be provided and each family will receive a book about Earth Day. The PAT program is a free, voluntary program that provides twice-monthly home visits with age-appropriate activities for children from birth to age five. We also provide developmental screenings, information and referrals to area resources. Families can be enrolled in the PAT program as soon as mom is pregnant, which many moms-to-be and dads find to be very helpful, since babies don’t come with a manual. POLSON — The 29th annual Cowboy Ball takes place on Friday, April 26, under the big tent at the Polson Fairgrounds. No host cocktails and the silent auction begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. and the live auction starting at 7:30 p.m. Following the auction there will be dancing to music of “sho-down.” Tickets are $50 each. POLSON — Polson Pachyderms will host a community discussion from a video by Mr. Reagan called “The Brains Behind Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.” It explains the ultimate goals of Alexandria’s campaign manager based on professed philosophy, which combines Nazism and Communism with threats of violence. In order for American communities to combat resurgence of historically dangerous political philosophies we have to become aware of the power behind Marxism and its growing threat in American civil and political life. POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library, 2 First Ave. E, will host the Montana Conversations program “Montana UFOs and Extraterrestrials” with Joan Bird on Friday, April 26, at 5:30. The presentation is free and open to the public. Montana is home to some of the most significant, well-documented, and interesting UFO reports in the history of ufology. Bird gives a short course in UFO literacy, using Montana events to illustrate different aspects of the phenomenon. Montana seems to be a place where there is a lot of historical UFO activity. POLSON — A spring concert for the Copeland Memorial Hand Bell Choir and Chancel Choir of Polson Presbyterian Church, 301 Fourth Ave. E, will take place on Sunday, April 28, at 3 p.m. Admission is free.
